Building an online platform for a recreational sports startup

Koala Kickball, a recreational sports startup founded by 3 friends in Miami, needed an online platform to serve as the company’s primary customer touch-point. The website, which would launch with the company, also needed to introduced and differentiate the brand in the crowded recreational adult sports market.

Online Store

The website is powered by Woocommerce, the Internet’s most popular ecommerce platform and accepts payments via a third party gateway. Customers can register for a signle season of play or subscribe to a league at a discount. Branded apparel is also printed and fulfilled ondemand by a third party supplier.

Event Management

Robust event management software allow customers to view upcoming games and team matchips by league, lookup driving directions to the event location, and add the event and reminders to their personal calendars. 

Players, Teams, and Leagues

Customized CRM software allows league subscribers to create, join, and manage teams. Players create and manage their own profiles including profile pictures. Team captains can invite players to a team they’ve created and others can join through free agency.

KoalaKickball.com serves as both Koala Kickball’s branding and sales engine, and the online hub for customer service and relationship management.

Leads funneled to the website can quickly learn about the company’s ethos, league locations and playing dates, upcoming calendar, and after parties.

Customers can either register for a single season of play or purchase a league subscription at a discount. Once registered, players can immediately manage their profile page, upload a picture, and either create or join a team.
